Exactly 8 years back on this day, Terrorists went on a killing spree in Mumbai after hijacking a boat. Hemant Bavdhankar who was on duty that day recalls the incidents which took place on that night.

On November 26th, 2008, Police Inspector Hemant Bavdhankar received a wireless message saying terrorists had hijacked a Skoda car and heading towards Marine Drive. Then, He chased the car at Chowpatty and shot two rounds on Terrorist Ismail's back before firing the third at his head. Soon after his collapse, The Car lost the control completely.

Ajmal Kasab got down from the car and pretended as he was surrendering after this incident. He, however, opened fire again when ASI Tukaram Omble cornered him. Though the ASI overpowered him, He got killed in this gun battle.

Actually, That was Hemant Bavdhankar's first and last encounter. The terror attack had a psychological effect on him. He kept avoiding visits to Chowpatty since then. He was honoured with 'Shaurya Padak' award by the Government for the bravery.
