Who will get the benefit of the ewfound Hindu resurgence in Andhra Pradesh. Repeated attacks on the temples across the state have whipped up a pro-Hindutva wave in the state. The people are opposing the attacks and a sentiment is building up against the YSRCP government.
The TDP was quick to realise this and adopted a pro-Hindu stance. Chandrababu Naidu began speaking like a diehard Hindutva activist. His speeches look more like a VHP activist speech. But, it appears that Chandrababu Naidu has toned down his anti-Christian rhetoric quite a bit after there was backlash from Christian leaders in TDP. So, there is a strong feeling that the BJP is the ultimate beneficiary of the Hindutva sentiment.
However, the big question is â Is the Saffron Party in a position to capitalise on the rising Hindu sentiment in Andhra Pradesh? With a weak organisational structure and lack of a charismatic leader is the BJP capable of channelizing the anti-Christian and pro-Hindu mood in the state? It appears even the party leadership at the centre seems to be having no idea on how to use this mood.
