Why BJP exempted Bandi Sanjay from attending Lok Sabha session?

Update: 2022-07-16 06:54 GMT
In a significant decision, the national leadership of the BJP has exempted Telangana state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay from attending the monsoon session of parliament. The party, however, asked him to be available in Delhi on July 18 to vote for BJP presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. For the rest of the session, he has been asked to focus on Telangana, where the party is making a strong bid for 2023 elections.

The monsoon session is likely to be held from July 18 till August 13. But during this period, Bandi Sanjay will organise bike rallies, protest programmes in various parts of Telangana. He will also undertake the next phase of his Praja Sangrama Yatra. He has however been asked to be ready to reach Delhi at short notice whenever any whip is issued.

BJP sources said that Bandi Sanjay would undertake a whirlwind tour of the state during this period and highlight the failures of the KCR-led TRS government. His next phase of the yatra is likely to be held from Basara in Nirmal district to Keesara in Malkajgiri-Medchal district. This has been decided in the wake of the mood created by the successful public meeting at the Parade Grounds and the national executive committee meeting at Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the TRS MPs are likely to meet on July 16 to chalk out an action plan for the upcoming presidential elections and the monsoon session of Parliament. KCR will guide the discussions. Sources say that the TRS is likely to raise the issue of pending arrears from the state government. It is likely to raise the issue of allocations for the irrigation projects in Telangana.
