Why Did This CM Skip PM's Video Conference?

Update: 2020-04-27 07:43 GMT
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has no time for the Prime Minister. Yes. He has no time to ttend the video conference organised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of continuation of lockdown. The CM has not allocated time for the video conference, said a terse message from the CMO. However, Pinarayi Vijayan has sent a written note outlining his suggestions and opinions. In his place, Kerala chief secretary Tom Jose has attended the video conference.

Pinarayi Vijayan thus has become the first Chief Minister to skip PM's video conference during the Corona crisis.  The meeting has been mainly organised to decide on whether to continue with the lockdown after May 3. Many states are of the opinion that the lockdown should continue till the end of May. They have already expressed their opinion on the issue. The last time Modi had a video conference with the CMs of various states was on April 11. Prior to that, there was a video conference on March 20. Vijayan was present on both the occasions. This time around, he chose to skip the meeting. While no reason has been given, the government note merely said that Vijayan has sent his suggestions in writing.

Kerala  has so far recorded 468 Corona positive cases. Of them 342 have recovered from the viral attack and have been discharged from the hospital. There are as many as 123 active corona cases in the state. Three deaths have also been reported.
