With barely a couple of days to go for the election to the President of India, the campaigning has reached a crescendo. The two candidates - BJP-backed Draupadi Murmu and the opposition-backed Yashwant Singh - are crisscrossing the country to seek votes. On Tuesday, Draupadi Murmu visited Andhra Pradesh and sought the support of both the ruling YSRCP and the opposition TDP.
Draupadi Murmu is going to get 100 per cent votes in two states in the country. In both the states, Yashwant Singh is al set to draw a blank. The two states are Andhra Pradesh and Mizoram in the north eastern region. Interestingly, the BJP has no seats in either of the states. In AP, both the YSRCP and the TDP have decided to support the BJP candidate. In Mizoram too, NDA partner has decided to back her. In both the state, she will make a clean sweep.
As for Yashwant Sinha, there is one state he is sure to sweep. In Kerala, the BJP does not have even a single MLA or MP. The NDA is non-existent. Thus, the votes of both the Left Front as well as the Congress-led UDF will go to Yashwant Sinha only. The BJP will get zero votes in Kerala.
Hence, Draupadi Murmu is not campaigning in Kerala, where there are no votes for her. In neighbouring Telangana too, 90 per cent of the votes - belonging to the TRS, the MIM and the Congress â will go to the Opposition candidate. The BJP will get just four MP votes and three MLA votes in Telangana. On the other hand, Yashwant Sinha has no plans to campaign in AP.
