Why is former joint director of the CBI VV Lakshmnarayana not talking about either the BRS or its leader KCR? Laksminarayana has of late been quite diplomatic in his behaviour. It is becoming increasingly clear that he is planning to contest for the Lok Sabha from Vizag. As part of this, he is said to have become quite careful about his moves.
If sources are to be believed, he has been sounded out by the BRS top leadership that the party would give him the ticket to contest for the 2024 lok sabha elections. The BRS wants to capitalize on JD Lakshminarayana's image while he wants to put BRS resources to good use in the Lok Sabha elections. Hence, he is quite careful about what he says about the BRS.
To be in sync with the BRS, he has also taken up the Vizag Steel Plant privatization issue. In fact, JD Lakshminarayana has always rooted for the VSP and opposed its privatization. But this time around, his voice is in sync with the BRS, which too is opposing the privatization. He is now talking about crowd funding to poor up money to bid for the contract to supply raw material to the VSP.
But, can JD pool up enough money to make a bid for VSP contract? Will it save the VSP from being privatized? Also, can he pool up Rs 5000 crore needed to make a bid through crowd funding? These are all unanswered questions. But, one thing is clear. If he makes such a bid, will the rival political parties sit silently and watch him corner all the glory?
