Why Is This Ex-MP Not Visiting Nizamabad?

Update: 2020-09-02 04:15 GMT
He was hugely popular and highly active. He was two-time MP from Nizamabad and had played a key role in the formation of Telangana. Now, the same politician is not available to the party that made him an MP or is accessible to the voters who backed him.The leader in question is Madhu Yashki Goud.

Madhu Yashki, an NRI, forayed into politics in 2004 and became an MP from Nizamabad. Later, he was re-elected in 2009 too. During the Telangana formation, he had played a crucial role and had brought immense pressure on the Congress high command to grant Telangana. But, in the first election that he fought after the formation of Telangana, he had lost. In 2019 again, he lost badly. If he got around 2.60 lakh votes in 2014, he got a paltry 60000 in 2019.

Since then, Madhu Yashki has been inactive in politics. Except for attending a couple of party meetings in Hyderabad, he did not chose to visit Nizamabad. He is not even accessible to the party workers over phone. As a result, the Congress Party has become very weak organizationally. Some Congressmen joke that the party is currently on a ventilator these days in Nizamabad. With leaders like Suresh Reddy joining the TRS and those like Shabbir Ali confined to their businesses, the party finds itself orphaned.

The local leaders strongly feel that Madhu Yashki should once again take active interest in the affairs of theparty in Nizamabad. They feel that he should once again reactivate the party organization in the undivided district.
