Why KCR Did Not Focus On Karnataka Elections?

Update: 2023-05-10 16:06 GMT
The much-awaited elections are underway in Karnataka. The political parties are candidates gave their best efforts to woo the voters and they are hopeful of their win. The BJP took the Karnataka elections seriously as it is the only southern state in which the party is strong. It cannot lose the elections there.

The opposition Congress is very strong there and is posing a big threat to it. Adding fuel to this, a few surveys said that the Congress party would win the elections and it will also win seats in the strong zones and fortress of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Looking at the developments, the elections should be seen as a two-face fight between the Congress and BJP. But the presence of Janata Dal (Secular) cannot be taken lightly. It can be a deciding factor in the state in a hung-like situation. JDS was founded by former Prime Minister Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda, who also served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Moreover, H. D. Kumaraswamy is among the few leaders who supported Telangana CM KCR on his national political aim. He was even present in Hyd when BRS was announced and the ex-CM said that KCR would campaign for the party.

But that did not happen. KCR did not go to Karnataka and at least his leaders were also not sent. They could have campaigned for JDS in the areas where Telugu people are in big numbers and this would have made helped the party win more seats. However, nothing that sort had happened and this caught everyone's attention.

Political observers say that the Delhi liquor scam issue might have stopped KCR from going to Karnataka. His daughter is one of the accused in the case and she was earlier grilled by the officers. Media also reported that the ED is digging all the details and Kavitha's husband is also on the radar. Though it was predicted that the former MP would be arrested that did not happen.

The ED is reportedly gathering crucial information as arresting a former MP is not that easy. KCR is believed to have not gone to Karnataka as making the BJP angry in the crucial elections would leave a big impact.
