Why nobody wants this PCC chief post?

Update: 2019-11-10 05:01 GMT
Normally, where there is a political post is up for grabs, there is usually a surfeit of candidates. Everyone would lobby for the past and try to get powerful recommendations. But, there is one post in the Congress Party for which there is no demand. Not one politician is interested in taking up the post. No one is agreeing to the post even if offered on a platter.

Know what the post is? The post in question is the president of the Pradesh Congress Committee in Andhra Pradesh. Once, it was the most powerful post. Once, AP was a decider in the Congress Party. But, today, no one wants the post of APCC chief. The last PCC chief  N Raghuveera Reddy has resigned the post after the ignominious performance of the party at the 2019 elections. He has not been taking any interest in the party programmes in the state. But, for the past four months, no alternative PCC chief has been appointed. The reason is that no one wants the position. AICC representative Oomen Chandy has met several leaders and requested them to take reins of the party, but not one is interested in it.

Most leaders see no future for the Congress in Andhra Pradesh. Those who are still in the party are looking to join either the YSRCP or the BJP. They feel that if they become PCC chiefs, they will have to spend from their pockets to organise party programmes. So, Oomen Chandy is finding it very difficult to get a PCC chief for the AP unit.
