A peopleâs representative is a connecting link between the government and the people. He is considered the voice of the people. But most YSRCP MLAs are finding that they have no role whatsoever in airing their opinions. Neither are they able to voice the peopleâs grievances and nor are they able to get things done for the people.
As a result, a large number of party MLAs are finding it very difficult to go to the people. They feel that they have no role whatsoever in the welfare schemes as the village secretaries appointed by Jagan are taking care of it.
Also, they have a direct link with the CMO and there are no mediators. As a result, the MLAs are being bypassed. They can neither influence the voters nor help them.
There are no amounts earmarked for the constituency development. As a result, they are unable to take up any developmental work in the constituency. Thus, they are unable to build any bonding with the voters of their respective constituencies. The situation in the rural areas is worse still. They are unable to meet their voters.
The MLAs are thus finding it difficult to reach out to the villages. There is a lot of dissatisfaction about the performance of the MLAs. The MLAs are waiting for YS Jagan to release some funds so that they can take up some works in their respective constituencies.
