It now appears almost certain that the much-touted public meeting of the TRS, which would be addressed by none other KCR himself, may not take place afterall. KCR was to address a public meeting in Halia on April 14. But, now the meeting may not take place.
This is mainly due to a couple of petitions filed in the State High Court by the opponents of the ruling TRS While one petition said that the meeting should not be allowed in view of the spike in Corona cases. The second petition was filed by some farmers who objected to the holding of the meeting on their farm fields. They said that the administration has levelled their farm lands and this has damaged their crops, they said. Another petition was filed by Yuga Thulasi and Go Seva foundation, an NGO.
Whether the meeting would be held or not depends on the court's ruling. But, even if the court rules in favour of the meeting, will the TRS be able to mobilise the crowds for the CM in such a short notice is the big question.
