Is the Congress High Command preparing ground for replacing its current Telangana affairs incharge RC Khuntia? It appears so. The party high command wants a young face to manage the party affairs in Telangana, where the Congress still has some future. A strong set of leaders with local influence can actually help the revival of the party. So, a young incharge would breathe new energy into the party, the high command feels.
Among the names doing rounds are former Maharashtra MP Rajeev Satav. He is currently incharge of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Party. Similarly, MP from Assam Gaurav Gogoi, who is also the son of former CM Tarun Gogoi's name is also considered. Current Jharkhand incharge RPN Singh is also being considered. It is only after the state incharge is appointed that the Congress will appoint the DCC chiefs, who in turn will select the PCC chief.

To fill the void created by him, there are several claimants for the PCC chief post. Among the names currently in circulation are: Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MLAs T. Jagga Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu, MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and A. Revanth Reddy and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao. D. Sridhar Babu.
