Will TDP gift away Sattenapalli to YSRCP?

Update: 2022-09-07 03:53 GMT
Guntur's Sattenapalli has always been a TDP citadel. Even amid the YS Jagan tsunami, the TDP acquitted itself very well in Sattenapalli. It lost to the YSRCP by a whisker. In fact, when he had to shift out of Narasaraopet, Kodela Sivaprasad chose this seat. It speaks volumes about the importance of this constituency in the TDP scheme of things.

However, it seems the TDP is hell-bent on defeating and decimating itself in Sattenapalli. Internal bickering clearly is taking its toll on the party in this constituency. The party is divided into various groups and each is trying to undercut the other. As a result, dissidence is on the rise in the constituency badly hitting the TDP.

To add to the woes, the party leadership is yet to declare the constituency incharge. As a result, every key leader feels he is incharge and this is leading to confusion within the party.

After the death of Kodela Sivaprasad, his son Sivaram is now managing the party. Though officially not declared as the constituency incharge, he is working hard to revive the party. At the same time, former MLA YV Anjaneyulu too threw his hat in the ring and is claiming the party ticket.  He too is working to consolidate his base in the constituency. As if this was not enough, Abburu Malleswara Rao aka Malli too is trying to strengthen himself. All the three are trying to outdo the others.

Recently, the three contenders tried to open Anna Canteens in Sattenapalli. While YV set up one Anna Canteen as the party office, Sivaram opened another by the side. Meanwhile, Malli opened another Anna Canteen near the bus stand. Each tried to close down the other's Anna Canteen. The supporters of the three leaders fought pitched battles. This led to an embarrassing situation for the TDP. So the TDP is in a kill-self mode in this citadel. Will Chandrababu act immediately and save Sattenapalli TDP?
