BJP heavyweight and former minister Eatala Rajender may very well have to face a hugely popular police officer from Huzurabad assembly constituency in the upcoming elections. If sources are to be believed, DSP Pingle Prashant Reddy, who has a large following in Jammikunta, is likely to be the BRS candidate from Huzurabad.
Prashant Reddy was a CI in Jammikunta. It was due to his initiative that the hoisting of the Tricolour and singing of national anthem everyday has begun in Jammikunta. This has since been emulated in several villages of Karimnagar and Warangal. He was also instrumental in making 'friendly policing' successful in Jammikunta.
The BRS thinking heads have reportedly come to the conclusion that Reddy would be able to take on Eatala, who has never been defeated so far in any election. The party wants to capitalize on the popularity of Reddy in Jammikunta and other areas that form part of the Huzurabad assembly constituency.
If BRS sources are to be believed, the DSP too has expressed his willingness to contest the elections. He is said to have activated his contacts in the Huzurabad constituency. He is likely to tour the constituency extensively to gauge the public mood. The BRS is hopeful that it would be able to beat Eatala this time.
