YSR Awards Function to facilitate people who strived in various sectors was held on Monday at the A Convention Centre in the temple city Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and state governor Biswabhusan Harichandan have presented awards at the function.YSRâs widow YS Vijayaamma was also present at the YSR awards function.
CM Jagan addressed the YSR Awards Function and said the reason behind starting the awards is that the government is receiving recommendations to start awards like the central government does every year. Through the awards, people who serve others will be facilitated, Jagan said.
Those who received the awards were finalized on the grounds of the service they did. YSR Lifetime Achievement awards and YSR achievement awards will be presented every year. The winners of the Lifetime award will be given Rs 10 lakh and a bronze idol and certificate, while the Achievement award winners will be given Rs 5 lakh case, bronze idol, and an appreciation letter, CM Jagan told the gathering.
While addressing the event, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister extended his wishes to the people on the occasion of Andhra Pradesh state formation day. He opined that he feels great to be present among these extraordinary people.
On the occasion, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan spoke about YSR and showered praises on him. Calling the former Chief Minister one of the greatest person, the governor termed YSR one who cares about the poor. With his care towards the poor, he brought Aarogyasari to benefit the poor, he said.
During his turn addressing the awards function, the Governor congratulated the winners and appealed to them to keep up the good work. As a home for talent and traditions, the state is having good exports in agriculture, he said.
