The layoffs season has been going on across the world and the companies are sacking employees. The companies are citing various reasons for removing employees to make the workforce short. Companies across the fields are going for the layoffs. Compared to others, the lay offs are very high in the It sector.
On top of this, there is another big concern for the employees as it is said that the count of employees working in IT firms has come down severely. Employees working in various IT firms left their jobs resulting in the employee count coming down.
This is the same with many major IT firms. TCS, Infosys, HCL, and Wipro saw their employees count coming down. In the first trimester results announced by the firms, they are said to have announced that the count of employees decreased.
As per the information, as many as 6,940 employees left Infosys. While Wipro saw 8,812 employees leaving the company, 2,506 employees left the HCL tech company. We can understand the situation in the IT sector as the big numbers in the sector saw employees leaving the companies.
While thousands of employees left the companies, the joinings are not on the same level. Only 523 joined the company in the trimester this year which is very less compared to the new joinings in last year.
The tech giants and other companies are removing employees due to the fear of a possible recession. As if that was not enough, the employees working in various tech giants left the companies due to various reasons. Firms not increasing their salaries and postponing the hikes are among the reasons as per the experts.
