What's Happening? 17 Prisoners Escaped Jail In 1 Night?

Something extremely drastic is happening in the Southern part of India as a shocking incident has been reported in the Tamil Nadu state, which has shocked everyone. This has something to do with law enforcement authorities as well.

As shocking as it may sound, 17 prisoners had managed to escape from a jail in the Theni region of Tamil Nadu and it has created a large scale operation by the Police department now.

17 undertrial prisoners allegedly staged a medical emergency to beat the prison guards and escape from a jail in Tamil Nadu’s Theni district late Monday night.

As of now, 13 prisoners remain at large as police deployed 17 special teams, tightened surveillance along routes leading to neighbouring districts and Kerala, and began examining how the inmates managed to breach security at the Thekkampatti jail near Andipatti.

Four of the prisoners who had managed to escape, have been identified and caught again while the search operation is under way to grab hold of the rest.

It appears that this is straight out of a cinema scene from South Indian film, as we only see such activities in South Indian films. The authorities have taken strict action against the jail officers. As many as nine officers associated with Theni jail have been suspended effective immediately and more action could follow shortly.

This is calling for elevated action from jail authorities regarding the maintenance of inmates and according security protocols. More details in this direction are expected to follow the hours to come.
