Accenture Limits Monthly Claude AI Usage for Employees
According to a report by 404 Media, Accenture has introduced a monthly usage budget of $29 (around Rs 2,700) for most employees using Claude.
Companies are increasingly using AI tools to improve productivity. However, the rising cost of these services is forcing businesses to control how much employees can use them. Accenture is reportedly the latest company to introduce such restrictions on Anthropic's Claude AI.
According to a report by 404 Media, Accenture has introduced a monthly usage budget of $29 (around Rs 2,700) for most employees using Claude. The new limits reportedly came into effect on October 1. Some employees with premium plans may still have access to higher usage limits.
The report also said that several employees had been spending more than $1,000 a month on AI services. With the new restrictions, employees may need to be more careful about how they use Claude for everyday tasks.
Accenture has reportedly not completely blocked additional usage. Employees who need more access must submit a Work Breakdown Structure explaining which project or team will pay for the extra cost.
Accenture is not the only company trying to manage its AI expenses. Uber has also reportedly introduced a monthly limit of $1,500 per employee for individual AI coding tools. Reports said the company had used up its annual AI budget within the first four months of 2026.
Microsoft and Meta have also reportedly placed restrictions on internal access to Claude Code as they focus more on their own AI technologies.
The move reflects a growing challenge for the technology industry. AI tools can help employees finish tasks faster and improve productivity, but their usage can become expensive when adopted across large teams. Companies are now looking for ways to make the most of AI while keeping spending under control.
