It is an established to predicament that South Indian politics are extremely demanding in nature in terms of political premises and also financial resources. That we have the list of richest parties in the country in terms of regional politics.

As expected, the two leading parties from Telugu states, YSR Congress and Telugu Desam party are much ahead on the list in terms of income and also expenditure.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led the charts with the highest declared income at ₹228 crore, followed closely by Trinamool Congress (TMC) at ₹219 crore and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) at ₹140 crore.

It is interesting to know that the Telugu Desam party which faced crisis situation between 2019 to 2024, has now emerged as the richest regional party in the country.

On the spending front, 21 out of the 36 parties spent more than they collected. YSR Congress topped the expenditure list, spending a whopping 142% more than its earnings, putting out ₹340 crore which is almost ₹200 crore in excess to the income.

The spending capabilities of YSR Congress beyond its income list has become a topic of discussion as people are discussing how it could actually accumulate all the funds for the additional expenditure.

It is already known that politics have become extremely costly, not just in Southern India, but also across other parts of the country. This has mandated some of the biggest regional parties to allocate significant budgets for the election campaigns.
