However, the latest developments have been suggesting that something extremely detrimental has happened in Australia as a Government portal has been hacked by AI.
It has been communicated by the prime minister of Australia that an open AI agent has hacked into their medical care website.
An OpenAI agent gained unauthorised access to Australia's Medicare portal in June and reached files that were not intended for public access, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese revealed.
Albanese says he told ChatGPT chief Sam Altman of Australia's extreme concern and said OpenAI took way too long to inform the government, calling the way it did so unacceptable. He sounded extremely cautious about the kind of effects that AI could be having on the Government functioning.
Evidence currently available shows no broader compromise of the Services Australia network, according to Albanese. But nevertheless, they already compromised data is going to pose a significant threat to the national security as certain compromises could be made already.
It has to be seen how the government across the world would be reacting to this matter and restrict the usage of AI within the official ranks.
