It is known that TDP's Nara Lokesh lost the 2019 elections from Mangalagiri. But he is determined to contest from the same seat in the upcoming elections. Many felt that we might see another election battle between Nara Lokesh and Alla Ramakrishna Reddy. The win margin is also not that big.

But the current trend says that this is not going to happen and Alla Ramakrishna Reddy will not be Lokesh's opponent. The YSRCP leadership took the Mangalagiri seat prestigiously and wanted to win it yet again.

The party leadership is very strict in picking the candidates. It is said that the performance of the legislators is going to be key and based on that the leaders would be given tickets. But Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is said to be not that effective in the recent survey.

Alla Ramakrishna Reddy has been fighting the TDP on the Amaravati issue. He got involved in this to a level that he forgot other issues. We cannot say what he did over the years in his constituency.

With this, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is said to have not got a good performance in the survey. It is also said that his Gadapa Gadapaku Program did not get a positive response from the local voters.

Considering all these factors, YCP leadership is said to be taking care of the Mangalagiri seat. If we have to take anything from the media reports then, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy might be moved to Bapatla and the serving MLA is also facing anti-incumbency like Reddy.

Talking about the Mangalagiri seat, a few ex-MLAs who shifted their loyalties to the YSRCP from the Telugu Desam Party are being considered and the leadership will pick a candidate soon.
