The United States administration under the presidency of Donald Trump has taken a pretty strong stand against immigration population. The recent imposition of massive fee on H1B visa is a clear indication of the same.

Google’s parent company Alphabet is reportedly planning what could turn out to be its largest overseas expansion so far, with Bengaluru emerging as the chosen destination.

According to a Bloomberg report, the tech giant is working on a massive office campus that could accommodate nearly 20,000 employees, signaling a strong long term commitment to India’s growing technology ecosystem.

The development comes at a time when policy changes in the United States are making it more expensive for companies to hire foreign talent.

The Trump administration has proposed a steep increase in H 1B visa fees, with costs potentially rising to as much as $100,000 per application. Such a move could significantly raise the financial burden on firms that traditionally rely on skilled Indian engineers to support their American operations.

Against this backdrop, expanding in India appears to be a strategic and cost effective alternative. Bengaluru, often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India, already hosts major global technology firms and offers access to a vast pool of highly trained professionals.

If the project moves forward as expected, it may not only strengthen Alphabet’s presence in the region but also generate substantial employment opportunities, further cementing India’s role as a global technology hub.
