Asia Cup:Nepal Team Posts Good Total Against India

Indian fans wanted to see the team in action in the Asia Cup. But that did not happen as the match with Arch-rivals Pakistan was called off after India's innings. Despite top order batsmen failing to score runs, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya stitched good partnership.

The wait is finally over as it appears that India vs Nepal will be played without any issues. Despite rain stopping the play briefly, the match was played. Nepal managed to score a good total of 230 runs. The team was allout in 48.2 overs.

Though the total seems small in front of the Indian team, a small team scoring the total is a big thing. The Nepal team capitalized on the fielding errors of the Indian side and scored some good runs.

Openers gave the required start to the team with Asif scoring 58 runs. Sompal played a quick innings of 48 runs. If not for the drop catches, India would have restricted Nepal for a less score than this.

The fielding errors are so concerning that even the commentators were not impressed by this and said that India did not play as per their level. Skipper Rohit Sharma was also stunned by the loose fielding of the players who missed catches. Wicket Keeper Ishan Kishan also missed a catch.

Ravindra Jadega and Siraj are the top wicket takers in the match who claimed three wickets each. Mohammad Shami, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each. Shardul Thakur gave the first breakthrough.
