NASA’s Shocking Observation: Asteroid Might Hit The Earth!
The concern that comes with this is that the Asteroid can hit the earth on any part and any nation can face the impact.
The U.S. federal agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) in its recent exercise found a shocking thing. There is a massive threat to the earth with an Asteroid. The chances of this possibility are quite high at 72 percent. However, there is no accuracy of the size of the Asteroid.
Going by the information shared by NASA on its website, there is a 72% of the threat of Asteroid hitting the Earth in approximately 14 years. While the threat is not any time soon it is a big concern for the world nations.
The concern that comes with this is that the Asteroid can hit the earth on any part and any nation can face the impact. It would be a relief if it crashes into any ocean. If it falls in other places then we need to worry about it.
It is known that NASA and its partners like FEMA and others do biennial Planetary Defense Interagency Tabletop Exercises to see if there are any incoming threats to the country and check the preparedness in such possibilities.
The fifth exercise was conducted recently and the summary was released. In the summary, NASA said in a hypothetical scenario there is a potential threat from the asteroid that might hit the Earth. As per the initial calculations of the exercise the asteroid might hit the Earth in 14 years.NASA termed the asteroid as a never-before-detected one.
For the exercise, NASA’s DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) will be used for authenticity. After various calculations and observations, NASA releases the summary along with the steps that need to be taken. The main idea behind starting the exercise is to look for any threats and how to be prepared in the future.
