T20 World Cup: BCCI Announces 15-member Squad!

Cricket fans are busy with the ongoing Indian Premier League(IPL). The tournament is giving unmatched entertainment with high-scoring thrillers. Earlier we used to see low-scoring thrillers. 2024 is different due to high scores. In the recent matches, the teams went past the 230 scores.

After the IPL is concluded, fans will wait for the T20 World Cup which starts from June 2. Ahead of the big tournament, the BCCI announced the squad. The selection commission called for a crucial meeting today and announced the squad.

Indian Squad For T20 World Cup:

Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Hardik Pandya (VC), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj

Reserves: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan

We have to say that the squad is a mixed bag with a few surprises and shocks. Sanju Samson who was seen in the Indian team long back was given a call with Shivam Dube getting the maiden World Cup squad. The big shock is that KL Rahul was not selected. He was trolled for his knock in the Finals and this might have shown its impact.

Rishabh Pant who met with an accident also made a comeback. Rinku Singh who is in terrific form was taken as the reserve player which was not expected. Shubman Gill was also taken as the reserved player.

The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Shashank Singh, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Riyan Parag could not make it to the final cut and this is a shock for the fans.

Talking about the bowling department, except for Bumrah, the other players are not in good form. Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh are leaking huge runs in the IPL and fans wonder why bowlers like Natarajan were not selected.
