‘Big Daddy’ of all yatras will soon get into Praja Yatra mode
If sources are to be believed, YS Jagan would launch his yatra from the end of September and will spend two days in each of the 175 assembly constituencies in the state.
Move over Varahi Yatra and Yuva Galam yatra. YS Jagan, the ‘big daddy’ of all yatras in Telugu politics is coming. Yes. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is now all set to get into the yatra mode. He is readying up to take out a state-wide yatra to bolster the party’s electoral prospects in the 2024 polls.
If sources are to be believed, YS Jagan would launch his yatra from the end of September and will spend two days in each of the 175 assembly constituencies in the state. YS Jagan, who is currently on a tour abroad, will return soon and pay his respects at the Idupulapaya samadhi of his father. Then he will begin his yatra.
It may be recalled that YS Jagan’s massive yatra ahead of the 2019 elections, which covered over 3000 km, has changed the political complexion of the state and ensured a landslide victory for the YSRCP. Jagan’s connect with the people will ensure a facile win for the party in the upcoming elections too, argue YSRCP backers.
Sources say that this time around, it would not be a padayatra. It would be a praja yatra or people’s journey. During this yatra, he would hold one-on-one interactions, public meetings, interactive gatherings and other such gettogethers to improve the party’s interface with the general public.
