The Lok Sabha Elections are fast approaching. Compared to the previous elections the intensity is higher. The parties involved in the elections took them prestigiously and are putting in their best efforts. The Election Code came into effect already and there are a few restrictions.
Special checkposts were put across the nation to look for money, liquor, and others. It is said that the EC had struck gold as Rs. 4650 crores were seized. This includes gold, cash, and drugs. This is said to be the biggest in recent times. No one would have predicted that we would see such a big amount.
There was a limit on the cash people could carry when the election code is effective. If the cash exceeds the limit, then they have to show the required documents. If not then the cash would be seized. We can see check posts in the major junctions across the countries and even on the leading reads on the National Highway.

If we look at the data it is said that this is the highest amount which was seized before the elections in the country so far. Before the last elections over Rs 3,475 crores were seized. Ahead of just one phase of Lok Sabha elections, over Rs 4,650 crores were seized. With this, we can understand the scale of the amount.
The Lok Sabha elections will be held in a phased manner. The political observers say that the amount that would be seized overall would be even higher and set a new record in terms of money that was seized before the polls.
