Why BRS is keeping a watch on Sonia Gandhi’s public meeting?
But, more than this, the BRS is watching who all from the BRS will latch on to the Congress bandwagon at the meeting.
The ruling BRS is keeping an eye on the Congress rally that will happen on September 17 at Tukkuguda on the outskirts of Hyderabad city. The reason? Congress big boss Sonia Gandhi will address the meeting and it will sound the bugle for the Congress campaign for the 2023 assembly elections in the state.
But, more than this, the BRS is watching who all from the BRS will latch on to the Congress bandwagon at the meeting. There is credible information that several disgruntled BRS leaders, who were unhappy at being denied party tickets, are ready to leave the party and don the Congress stole.
Kuchadi Srihari Rao of Nirmal, who is considered quite close to KCR, has resigned from the BRS after he was denied the ticket. He is likely to join the Congress Party. Another ex-MLA Vemula Veeresham of Nakrekal is also likely to join the Congress. Similarly, the moves of Malkajgiri MLA Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao are also being watched keenly.
Senior leaders like Mandula Samuel of Thungathurthi, Shyam Naik, husband of MLA Rekha Naik, Gadwal municipal chairperson Saritha, former MLA from Manakonduru Arepalli Mohan are also being kept under watch.
BRS sources say that though KTR has talked to most of these leaders, they reportedly did not relent. Hence, the BRS has kept a watch on the movements of the dissidents within the party especially ahead of Sonia Gandhi’s visit to Telangana.
