A car created a ruckus on the Vizag-Bheemili route on Monday night. The Overspeed of the youths in a state of intoxication claimed three lives. Even before the mishap, the youths created a mess at the Sagar Arch. Three people lost their lives in the mishap.
They were high on alcohol and they were driving the car at a high speed. These factors resulted in three people breathing their last. It is heart-wrenching that a couple who have no connection to the incident passed away. The incident happened near the Radisson Blu hotel on the beach road on Monday night at 10: PM.
As per the information revealed by the cops, six people who hail from Vizag were drinking alcohol in the car and were heading towards Rishikonda from Sagar Nagar. The vehicle lost control after reaching the Radisson Blu hotel. It hit the divider and entered the other side road.
The car hit a couple who were going into the city from Rishikonda on a bike and eventually hit a tree. The couple succumbed to the serious injuries on the spot. A person sitting in the back seat of the car also died.
Thankfully, the airbags opened when this happened. The driver and a person who sat at the front escaped this with small injuries. Another person in the vehicle sustained injuries and was rushed to the KGH.
As there were beer bottles in the vehicle, the Police suspect that the youth might have consumed alcohol. The accident is said to have happened as the youths were high on alcohol and drove their vehicle at a high speed. The person who died in the car was identified as a native of PM Palem.
The couple(wife and husband) that died in the mishap was identified as the natives of the Rayagada region. They met with the accident while coming to the city from Rishikonda. While one of the passengers in the car is absconding, the rest of them are not in a state to say anything.
With the car hitting at a high speed, even the trees were uprooted and misplaced. Many say that this tells us the speed at which the car was traveling. Reports say that the car might have been traveling at over 150 KM at the time of the accident. The dead bodies were sent to KGH.
