ChatGPT processing record number of prompts!

Artificial intelligence is the booming technological revolution in the globe currently and it has started to grab the attention all over now. In this context, ChatGPT is now processing an incredible 2.5 billion prompts every day across the world. This means users are relying on it nearly one trillion times a year.

In the United States alone, around 330 million prompts are sent daily. What’s even more impressive is how quickly this growth happened in just eight months, daily usage more than doubled from 1 billion in December 2024 to 2.5 billion by July 2025.

The number of weekly active users also shot up, going from 300 million in late 2024 to over 500 million by March 2025. This shows that ChatGPT is no longer just a tool for fun or curiosity people now use it daily for tasks like writing, coding, researching, learning, and chatting.

To understand its size, compare it to Google, which handles about 13 to 16 billion searches a day. That means ChatGPT now processes around 15–20% of Google’s daily volume a huge leap for an AI assistant.

OpenAI is also working on new features like the ChatGPT Agent, which can complete tasks on behalf of users, and an AI-powered web browser, signaling that ChatGPT may soon compete even more directly with traditional search engines.
