Ruling BRS and the Congress are putting in their best efforts in campaigning in the poll-bound Telangana as the elections are fast approaching. Both sides are not leaving any stone in this regard. We can understand this if we look at the intense public meetings and campaigns of both parties.

The Congress party which wants to repeat the Karnataka result is announcing a spree of promises and the leaders are also promising that Indira Gandhi's regime will be offered. Leaders who are participating in the campaign are talking about this extensively.

When the Congress party was flaunting Indira Gandhi's regime, Chief Minister KCR came down severely on the regime and asked why TDP would be floated if the Congress party was very good.

Addressing the gathering at Praja Ashirvada Yatra in Manakondur KCR attacked the Congress and Indira Gandhi's regime dubbing it the worst regime as there were starvation deaths and hunger.

Talking about the Congress party's promise to bring Indiramma Rajyam to Telangana, the CM said everyone knows what happened during the period like hunger deaths and Naxal movements.

Keeping it in simple terms KCR targeted Indira Gandhi's regime and praised the late NTR who floated TDP against the party. KCR asked why NTR would start TDP if Indira Gandhi's regime was so good. NTR started Rs 2 per kg of rice to feed the poor. There is no other regime in the country that is as bad as Indira's, he said.

"When former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao came to power in undivided Andhra Pradesh and offered rice at Rs 2 per kg that the plight of hunger began to change," the Chief Minister said.

It has to be mentioned here that recently KTR changed his stand on his comments on Chandrababu Naidu's arrest and BRS leaders are supporting Chandrababu Naidu. Amid this KCR spoke highly about NTR who floated his TDP and provided the poor with rice at Rs 2.
