Congress To Have Tough Time In Jubilee Hills Seat?
Having been shocked as he was denied the ticket, P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy made some strong comments.
The election date for the much-awaited general elections in Telangana is fast approaching. In the wake of this, we can see the election fever increasing and the major parties in the state getting busy. While the ruling party BRS announced the candidates list long back, the opposition parties are releasing the candidates.
The Congress party gave clarity about the candidates from 100 seats as two editions of candidates were released. In the first edition, 55 candidates were announced and the second edition had 45 names. There are 119 Assembly seats in the state and the third phase of the list is likely to have 19 names.
Forget about the remaining candidates, the two lists are making the Congress party face severe heat. The Aspirants who pinned high hopes on tickets and could not get tickets are expressing severe dissatisfaction. They are making strong comments openly.
P Janardhan Reddy aka PJR is among the celebrated leaders. His son Vishnu Vardhan Reddy who won the Jubilee Hills seat in 2004 and 2009 pinned high hopes that he would be given the ticket from the Assembly seat. But the party shocked him.
Having been shocked as he was denied the ticket, P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy made some strong comments. He said that he would contest from the Jubilee Hills seat for sure.
The Ex-MLA said that he doesn't understand why he was denied the ticket when the surveys were in favour of him. I worked hard for the party. But the tickets were given to those who served the leaders and not the people, he said.
As he said that he will contest the seat, there are two possibilities. Either he will contest as an independent candidate or he will join the other party. He can dent the party's winning chances in the seat for sure.
Moreover, he is aware of the Assembly constituency. He won twice and lost twice from the seat. So he is a well-known face here. Congress gave the ticket to former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin. With this, many say that Congress has a threat in the seat in the form of PJR's son.
