Congress Party's First List To Have 35-40 Candidates!
Amid this, the Pradesh Election Committee(PEC) is going to meet at the Gandhi Bhavan today.
The Congress party is adamant about winning the next elections and coming to power in Telangana. It is known that the Congress party won the elections in neighboring Karnataka. The party wants to repeat the same in Telangana as well. The big leaders in the party are showing interest in working together keeping aside their issues. On the other hand, leaders from other parties are joining Congress leading to opinions that Congress might win the elections.
The party already invited applications from the candidates for the upcoming elections. It is said that more than 1,000 applications were received for 119 Assembly constituencies. Leaders like TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy and others enrolled for the applications. These applications are being examined. It is said that the candidates list might be released in the first week of September. Reports say that the first phase of the list is expected to have candidates for around 35 to 40 Assembly seats in the state.
It is said that the candidates list would be announced with the sitting MLAs, and constituencies where there are strong candidates and where only one candidate applied for the ticket. It is being reported that in the first list, leaders like Revanth Reddy(Kodangal), Uttar Kumar Reddy(Huzur Nagar) Uttam Padmavathi(Kodada), Raghuveer Reddy(Nagarjuna Sagar), Komatireddy Venkat Reddy(Nalgonda), Bhatti Vikramarka(Madhira), Jeevan Reddy(Jagtial), Jangaon(Ponnala Lakshmaiah) Shabbir Ali(Kamareddy), Seethakka(Mulugu), Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy(Khammam) and others would get a spot.
Amid this, the Pradesh Election Committee(PEC) is going to meet at the Gandhi Bhavan today. After going through the applications, the party might pick three to four candidates from each constituency. The list would be sent to the screening committee.
On the other hand, it is also said that the PEC might pick one candidate from 35-40 constituencies after considering aspects like surveys and seniority. Congress party might send the same to the leadership and after getting a nod the list might be announced in the first week of September.
On the other hand, BRS chief, Chief Minister KCR announced candidates for 115 Assembly seats for the elections. The party is yet to announce candidates for four Assembly constituencies.
