Can The CPI Party Be Trusted?
Communist Party of India National Secretary Sitaram Yechury said they will support the Congress party in constituencies that it is not contesting
Communist Party of India National Secretary Sitaram Yechury said they will support the Congress party in constituencies that it is not contesting. Usually, the announcement should create good interest and a buzz among people as he is the national secretary of the party. But people are not believing the statement and the double standards of the local leaders is the reason for this.
CPI and CPM were supposed to join hands with the Congress party. However, the alliance did not work out due to disputes between Congress-CPM on seat sharing. Congress said no to the proposal CPM made on the number of seats. At the same time, CPI agreed to the proposals as it agreed to the Congress party's proposals. While Congress and CPI are contesting elections together, CPM is contesting alone in 17 seats.
When the nominations were filed and the campaign was going on, BRS leader Harish Rao met the CPM leaders and sought support in a few seats in the Medak district. With this, many have doubts about CPM's nature. People wonder how the party can hold meetings with Harish Rao as it is contesting alone. However, there is no clarity on the outcomes of the discussions.
Now Sitaram Yechury is saying that they will support Congress in the constituencies they are not contesting. CPM Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram is yet to announce this. No one knows that a proposal is going on about this. Amid this Sitaram Yechury's announcement started a debate on whether the party can be trusted or not. However, there is no clarity on whether the CPM leaders will campaign for the Congress candidates like the TDP.
