Bad News Loading? India Petrol Prices Going Up?

India already has one of the costliest prices when it comes to petrol and diesel. This has been the case for many years now, and the price is kept going up further due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.

And now the latest developments are suggesting that India could be witnessing another surge in petrol and diesel prices starting very soon.

This is again due to the recent spike in the global prices of crude oil, which could further bring additional prices in the Indian fuel market.

According to the latest reports, India faces the prospect of a higher oil import bill and renewed inflationary pressure after international crude prices surged on Tuesday.

With Brent oil approaching USD 100 a barrel as escalating West Asia tensions raised concerns about disruptions to global supplies, India could be facing the brunt of the attack as the prices could be going up.

India had already witnessed a significant spike in petrol prices recently due to the ongoing conflict in Ira and subsequent pressure on oil supply. Now the prices of crude oil have gone up significantly in the global market, and this could bring another change in prices.

There is already a significant public backlash against the blending of ethanol in petrol. And now, if the prices go up further, then it will lead to further consequences amongst the public. So it has to be seen how the central government and the petroleum ministry would deal with the same.
