Global Youth Unemployment Dropped, But Few Issues Concerning!

The body said that the Global Youth Unemployment reached the 15-Year Low. In particular, the trend is high in Asia.

Unemployment has been a big concern for the world for the past few years. The Covid outbreak left a massive impact as Crores of jobs were lost due to various reasons. Nearly after Four years after Covid hit the world, very strong unemployment had come down as per a study.

The International Labour Organization has come up with good news on unemployment. The body said that the Global Youth Unemployment reached the 15-Year Low. In particular, the trend is high in Asia. Usually, we need to celebrate the news as the unemployment rate fell.

Though it is a piece of good news that global unemployment reached a 15-year low, there are a few concerns too as a few factors are troubling. There are job insecurities and some issues should be addressed.

In 2023 the unemployment rate saw a massive dip and even reached the pre-Covid era. As many as 64.9 million people across the globe who are between 15-24 are unemployed which is very concerning. By 2030 64.9 million people would make up 20 percent of the global population by 2030.

The biggest concern is that the same numbers should be provided employment in the coming days. Even the educated people don't have highly skilled jobs. In sectors like production and services unemployment is creating a big impact.

On the other hand the unemployment rate is increasing in Arab nations, East and Southeast Asia, and Pacific regions. This is also a big concern. As much as 20.4 percent of people are not employed, not educated and not trained as well. The percentage is quite high which is another concern.

If we look at the issue from the gender issue the problems faced by women are more. At an early age, girls are dropping out of school. Without education, finding good jobs is very tough. Even if they finish their education they are facing other issues as well.
