Good News For Farmers: TS Govt Releases Loan Waiver Guidelines!

The promises played a key role in the Congress party’s big win in Telangana. Just like Karnataka, Telangana also saw good results in the massive promises. As a result, the party came to power in the state. The grand old Congress has been trying hard to win the elections and it took ten years for the party.

Crop Loan Waiver is among the promises. Now the Revanth Reddy-led government issued guidelines for this. The state government released the guidelines for the loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh for the farmers.

The concerned department said that this applies to the loans that were taken between 2018 December 12 to 2023 December 13. Ration cards would be the criteria for the big scheme.

The guidelines issued by the department said that this applies to every farmer family in Telangana up to a loan amount of Rs 2 lakh. This applies only to short-term loans. If the farmer families have loans of over Rs 2 lakhs, then the remaining amount should be cleared by the families while Rs 2 lakh will be cleared by the government under the scheme.

An IT portal would be run for this. The portal would be used to gather data of the families and validate the data. The issues raised by the farmers on this would be addressed too.

On the other hand, a bank nodal officer should be appointed by the bank for this. The nodal officer should do a digital signature on the data of the loans. For accuracy in finding out the data of the families, the Aadhaar in the Public Distribution System (PDS) and the Aadhaar in the Pass Book database should be mapped.
