GVL As Vizag BJP MP Candidate?

Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha member G. V. L. Narasimha Rao became a Vizag resident now. He even celebrated his birthday in the city. He bought a house there and became a Vizag voter. He has been celebrating the festivals in Vizag.

Though GVL hails from Prakasam district, he is looking to contest the Vizag Lok Sabha seat in 2024. The tenure of the serving legislator will come to an end in March 2024. It is said that the high command asked GVL to contest the elections in AP. Since then, he has been fighting for the issues in Vizag.

He is mentioning the issues concerning Vizag in the Parliament. At the same time, he is also holding press meets there. He is examining the programs conducted by the Centre. He is meeting the employees of the Central Public Sector undertakings and knowing their issues. He stays in Delhi or else in Vizag. He also announced Vizag as his own place.

The same GVL was nominated by the Centre. He was recognized as the local Vizag MP. He is nominated as a Member East Coast Railway Users Consultative Committee. In this position, GVL looked at the railway problems related to Uttarandhra from the customer's side and suggested a solution. Usually, the post is given to a local MP. With GVL getting the post, many say that the BJP is seeing him as a local person.

At the same time, it is also said that BJP might give him Vizag MP ticket for him in the next polls. The current AP BJP chief Daggubati Purandeswari is also hoping for the Vizag seat. She won the seat on a Congress seat in 2009. But she lost the elections in 2019 as a BJP leader. It is said that she might run the polls from the seat in 2024.

GVL getting a plum post raised doubt on whether BJP is supporting GVL on this. It is also said that GVL has good ties with the leadership. Many say that the chances of making others contest the elections are very less as GVL was sent to Vizag a couple of years back and his programs are getting support.

There are around 2 lakh voters from GVL’s community in Vizag. Earlier, a few people from his community won the elections from here. People from his community did not get a ticket in recent times. High Command is said to be thinking that giving a ticket to GVL would make the community happy.
