Similar suspense prevailed on the Gyanvapi Mosque which is located close to the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The Supreme Court gave key orders directing the survey to be stopped which started on Monday. 1000 Police personnel, IAS, and IPS officers who went to the survey have returned and a big discussion is going on about this in the country.

What Happened?

The Gyanvapi Mosque is located close to the Kashi temple. Muslims are offering prayers there. A few women moved the court seeking permission to offer prayers saying that the mosque is a part of the temple complex and there are idols of Hindu idols on the walls of the mosque. However, the mosque committee objected to this.

Amid this, the local court gave orders for the Archaeological Survey of India survey in the mosque. The Varanasi District Magistrate(Collector) said that the survey will happen on Monday. Following this, cops entered the mosque. ASI officers and IPS officers followed them. However, the Mosque Committee moved the Supreme Court seeking directives to stop this.

The Supreme Court heard the petition and gave interim orders to stop the survey. The orders to stay the survey were given when the survey was going on by accepting the petition filed by the mosque committee. The Supreme Court ordering for stopping the survey temporarily became a big discussion in the country.

Not just that, the Hindu side is saying that the structure that was found at the premises is Shiva Lingam. On the other hand, the mosque committee is saying that it is the fountain structure. Amid this, the local court gave orders for a survey on Friday. The ASI was supposed to complete the survey and submit a report by the 4th of August. However, the Supreme Court gave key orders now.
