Shocking: India Is At Top In Global YouTube Takedowns!
The Community Guidelines Enforcement report for October to December 2023 says that India is at the top in the violation as the highest number of videos were taken down from India.
Global free video-sharing website YouTube looked into the content that did not meet the guidelines and brought them down. The dynamics are quite shocking as there are a few nations where millions of videos were removed. The data is just from a few months from 2023, which is last year.
The Community Guidelines Enforcement report for October to December 2023 says that India is at the top in the violation as the highest number of videos were taken down from India. The numbers are quite high compared to that of Russia and the United States.
India is at the top in the removal list as more than two million videos were taken down. If we look at the overall picture as many as 90,12,232 videos were removed while 2,254,902 videos are from India alone. Singapore and the United States are at the second and third positions with 1,243,871 and 788,354 videos respectively.
It is said that the lion's share of the videos which were removed were detected by a machine. On the other hand, a few lakh videos were flagged by the users. Machine-flagged videos are in big numbers with 96 percent.
Talking about the community guidelines it is said that if any channel faces three strikes in 90 days due to any violations they would be brought down by the platform.
Looking at the category of the videos they reportedly include dangerous videos, violent ones, and the videos that fall under harassment and sexual content. Videos with zero views and thousands of videos were also taken down.
