As we had reported yesterday, the United States military had strategically struck an Indian vessel that was travelling the Strait of Hormuz. This has become major news now, and there is a lot of global discourse happening on the same.

Sadly, we have one Telugu individual who is associated with this fatality, and this incident has brought great sorrow in his family.

Patnala Suresh, Chief Engineer from Visakhapatnam was among three Indian crew members killed after oil tanker that was struck off the Oman coast.

Suresh is survived by his wife and two sons, aged 13 and 10 and the tragedy has left his family and the Visakhapatnam maritime community in deep grief.

Suresh’s wife Bhargavi was informed about the attack last evening but she was under the impression that Suresh was only missing. Incidentally, Bhargavi last spoke to Suresh on 9th June around 8:30pm.

According to her, Suresh was working with the same company for over 12 years. His contract ended couple of months ago, but he wasn’t relieved due to the war situation but the company couldn’t get any replacement. Bhargavi says Suresh was very passionate about his job but was wanted to come back home.

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi has extended deepest condolences on this matter, and the government has assured all possible help and support to the concerned families.
