There is no denial of the fact that America is the dream destination of Indian students. It's not that other nations are not preferred by students. But no nation comes close to America when it comes to the craze among Indian students' preference for higher studies.

The number of students who go to America has been increasing with every academic year. More and more students are going there to pursue higher studies. We can see Indian students going to prestigious Colleges and Universities. The latest data sheds light on the large number of US visas for Indian students.

The US Embassy in India in its official social media post said that more than 90,000 visas were issued for students in Summer/ in June, July, and August and these are the record numbers. The numbers are quite high and the majority of visas were given for Indians.

The number of visas issued for Indians is so big that almost one in four student visas that were issued around the globe are issued in India. This says that almost 1/4th of the visas are given to Indian students.

90,000 might not appear a big number. But we have to understand one thing: the visas were issued for only the summer season. It is known that more than 2 lakh students are studying in the US already.

To give an example of the big visa numbers, last year as many as 125,000- visas were issued for Indian students and now more than 90,000 visas were given for the summer season alone.

After announcing the visa numbers, the U.S. Mission in India extended its congratulations and best wishes to the students who picked the US for higher studies.

"The U.S. Mission in India is pleased to announce that we issued a record number – over 90,000 – of student visas this Summer/ in June, July, and August. This summer almost one in four student visas worldwide was issued right here in India!," the embassy said.
