IPL Bonanza: How Much Money Each Team Makes?

The biggest sporting event in India IPL got concluded last night with the final game, being played between Bengaluru and Gujarat at the famous Ahmedabad Stadium. RCB created a strong foundation by winning the IPL trophy again for the second time in as many seasons.

Let us have a look at the kind of revenue that generated by each of the IPL teams during one particular season and the kind of numbers associated with the same. Apparently, each IPL team earns in the vicinity of ₹480 crore per year. This is including the all amenities that they would be getting, including the share in Media rights and the central contract from the BCCI.

The average expenditure of every team in the IPL is apparently around ₹170 crore. This includes the salary of the players and staff along with other amenities that they provide to their course set up. Apparently, each and every single team in the IPL makes money from every single game right from the ticket sales level, and this is the reason why there is a lot of competition to acquire an IPL team.

One of the main contributing factors is the media rights as brands and advertisements are always ready to pay huge money for the IPL so that they can reach millions of followers on a daily basis. The interesting observation here is that even poorly performing teams in the IPL managed to make significant amount of money due to the central contract and Media rights that come from the BCCI.
