The focus is on Telangana in the wake of the general elections. The much-awaited elections are slated to commence next month. Following this, the major parties in the state are busy with the activities. Unlike the previous elections, the upcoming one is expected to be more intense.

When the major parties were busy, the focus went on to YS Sharmila who entered Telangana politics with a lot of expectations and hopes. She announced the party in the state in a big way after meeting the supporters and followers of her father from various regions.

However, a debate is now going on about whether it's game over for Sharmila politically. She is gearing up for a sole fight in the state. She is likely to contest from the Paleru seat. Her mother Vijayamma might also try her luck in electoral politics here.

There are a few reasons for the debate. When she started the party, Sharmila said that she would come to power and that the CM post is her aim. She gave her best efforts in this regard and embarked on a massive padayatra across the state. Sharmila toured the state. However, the Yatra did not give a positive outcome.

Earlier it was reported that her party might be merged into the Congress party. She met a few bigwigs in the party for this including DK Shivakumar the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. Sharmila also met the Gandhi family. The meetings also could not create a path for her entry into the party.

While the reason behind this is not known it is said that the Telangana Congress leaders opposing her entry might played a role in stopping Sharmila’s party merger into the Congress party.

Now the former Chief Minister’s daughter is gearing up to go to elections alone. However, her party might contest in a few seats. However, there are a few doubts about how many seats the party can win out of the 15 seats it will contest in the upcoming elections. All these factors raise doubt about whether it is a dead end for Sharmila's career.
