Justice delayed is justice denied is a powerful quote which talks about what happens when justice is delayed. If an innocent person undergoes punishment without his or her mistake or wrongdoing then it's a big failure as far as serving justice is concerned. As a big example of this an innocent was slapped with a jail term and he passed away undergoing the term.

Going into details an Indian man named Kris Maharaj who is living in the US was charged with murdering two people. The case goes back to 1986. Since then the Indian has been fighting for justice and his fight has been going on for 38 long years.

For the charges, he was slapped with a death sentence. However, the punishment was changed to a life term in 2002. His fight and the efforts of his lawyers led to a verdict that he is innocent. The verdict reportedly came in 2010. Despite this, he had no relief and he remained in jail.

Unfortunately, he lost 38 years of his life with the case. Fighting for injustice he breathed his last in a prison in the US. His lawyer expressed his concerns over the demise of the Indian man who died in the prison.

“Immensely sad: 1pm ET Kris Maharaj passed away in the hospital after 38 years fighting injustice-messages to Marita c/o clive@justiceleague.org.uk,” his post reads.

This is a big example of what happens to a life when justice is delayed for a lifetime. He even passed away facing the jail term in prison.
