It is already known that Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy is determined to put his political counterpart KTR under the radar of the investigation agencies. He has now taken a major step in this regard as the Telangana Cabinet has decided to initiate probe on KTR in connection with the Formula E case.
The Telangana cabinet has prompted the chief secretary to initiate the ACB investigation upon the approval of the governor.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has reportedly granted permission to the Anti-Corruption Bureau to prosecute BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao over alleged financial irregularities in the Hyderabad Formula E races.
The allegation is that KTR verbally approved a transaction that diverts Rs 50 crore government to private entities during the Formula E race season.
Not too long ago, ACB director general had sought the governor’s permission to prosecute KTR, alleging that money from the Formula E event was routed to private individuals unconnected to the race’s organizing agencies. By mid-November, the governor’s office referred the matter to the attorney general for legal opinion, culminating in the final approval.
