We are living in a fast-paced world. The lifestyle had changed compared to the previous generation. In the previous generation, the head of the family used to be the sole breadwinner while others used to take a back step. But the same is not the case in the current era.

The cost of living and expenditure increased exponentially and almost everyone had to work. The percentage of youths taking up jobs after their studies has increased. On top of this, the changes in lifestyle and work pressure are putting an additional burden.

All these factors are taking a big toll on the mental health. This aspect is often ignored by many. The lack of knowledge on mental health and how it affects a person might be a reason behind this.

Thanks to the celebrities who came out and openly spoke about mental health and depression. The two can have a devastating impact on one’s health if the required measures are not taken. The imbalance in mental health also forces people to take the extreme step and end their lives.

Mental stress has no age limit and people from any walk can suffer from it. To give an example of this, earlier we have read news of medicos taking the extreme step. The same is the case with Kota. Unable to cope with the stress, a few studies committed suicide. This is about the students. People who are preparing for competitive exams also go through immense pressure.

Talking about employed persons, face stress with the load. If they cannot strike a balance between the workload and family time then they go through stress which might emerge into depression.

Anyone can fall prey to mental stress and depression and hence focus should be made in this regard. We should create an environment for individuals where they can openly talk about the issues. The feeling of what others will think stops them from talking about the issues.

Today is the 10th of October which is celebrated as World Mental Health Day to shed light on the importance of mental health and to create awareness on mental illness.

On this occasion, a few experts are giving inputs on how to deal with the issue. They say that failures be it in academics or family or finances should not be seen as big problems and take extreme steps.

Ups and downs in life are common and no one can escape this. But one should add the ability to accept this and go forward by accepting life. But they should not take the extreme step, the experts say.

Talking about the ways to come out of it, experts say that those who are facing issues should openly speak to their family or friends. To come out of the stress, they can indulge in their favorite habits.
