Manmohan Singh Statue In Hyd? What About Bharat Ratna

There’s a string sympathetic wave all across India after the tragic passing of former prime minister Manmohan Singh. This topic came to a discussion today in the Telangana assembly and here’s a look at what CM Revanth Reddy and KTR had to say about the same.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has moved a resolution in the state Assembly urging the central government to confer the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

More relevantly, the Telangana Government also proposed the installation of a statue of the former prime minister in Hyderabad’s financial district to honor his contributions to India’s economic growth. On this matter, Revanth Reddy emphasized Singh’s pivotal role in liberalizing India’s economy and transforming it into a global powerhouse.

“Manmohan Singh’s vision laid the foundation for the economic reforms that reshaped India. It is time we honor his legacy,” he said while seeking the Assembly’s approval for the statue installation. Interestingly enough, KTR approved this proposal and said the BRS will fully support the proposal for Bharat Ratna for Manmohan Singh.

As it appears, we could soon be witnessing a special statue of Manmohan Singh at the buzzing Financial District area of Hyderabad.
