The recent case in involving an Indian origin Doctor Who is facing allegations of killing her own daughter in the United States has led to several speculations and there is some social media. Now the police authorities have established a set of crucial evidence in this context.

A shocking case has come to light involving an Indian origin doctor in the United States. Dr Neha Gupta, a 37 year old pediatrician who was working in Oklahoma City, has been charged with the murder of her four year old daughter, Aria Talathi.

The incident took place in June 2025 at a rented property in El Portal. According to police, Gupta called emergency services claiming that she found her daughter at the bottom of a swimming pool and that she did not know how to swim.

In the 911 call recording that was later released, she can be heard telling the dispatcher that she tried to save her child but was unable to do so.

However, investigators say the medical findings tell a different story. The autopsy reportedly showed no water in the child’s lungs or stomach, which raised serious doubts about drowning. Doctors also found injuries around the mouth and face that suggested possible smothering.

Authorities believe the drowning may have been staged to cover up the crime. Reports also mention that Gupta and the child’s father were involved in a custody dispute at the time.

She was later arrested and charged with second degree murder in Miami Dade County. The case has deeply shocked the Indian community and many others across the country.
