Pawan Vs Pithapuram: Is It That Easy?

Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan is contesting from Pithapuram constituency in the East Godavari District in the upcoming elections. TDP leader SVSN Varma wanted to contest from the seat. But Chandrababu Naidu pacified him. With this, Pawan Kalyan averted a big trouble. Not just that on day one of Pithapuram visit Pawan went to SVSN Varma’s house. Is winning Pithapuram easy for Pawan Kalyan is the question here. YCP announced MP Vanga Geethe as the candidate. As she is also from the Kapu community, many say that the caste equation might not be in favour of Pawan.

The Congress party is also fielding a strong candidate from the seat. But the main fight is expected to be between Pawan and Geetha. This election is quite important for Pawan. He contested from two seats in the last elections and failed. With this, he changed the constituencies and districts and decided to show his stamina from the east. He is trying hard to be the voice in the Assembly House. Pawan Kalyan is facing two big questions here.

After she was announced as the candidate, Geetha raised the local issue and said that she has a good bonding with Pithapuram. Saying that Pithapuram is her constituency and said that she knows every house in the seat. She also said that the voters would not vote for the outsiders. This is true. The locals are said to be in the mood to vote for the locals. This would be an issue for Pawan Kalyan.

In the surveys conducted by the online channels the people in Pithapuram reportedly said the same. Irrespective of the parties they are looking for a local leader. A few are saying that they are not opposing Pawan Kalyan. He has a glamour as the hero. Pawan needs to answer this.

At the same time, the YCP is spreading a talk that Pawan Kalyan is a visiting leader. Saying that he has no own house there and no one knows when he visits the constituency. Pawan Kalyan should look for an answer to this. This is the issue in many seats. Balakrishna faced a similar issue in the 2019 election in Hindupur. He built a house there and changed the Aadhaar card and Voter ID to the constituency. Now we have to see what Pawan will do. Winning there is very crucial for Pawan. There is a talk that winning the seat will not be easy if counter strategies are not planned.
